How to Use the Site

Back to Main Page

Notes

Take a laptop to class, and take notes. Upload documents from class by writing on your computer and uploading the file, or taking a picture of them with your smartphone. Upload them to all your folders on the left hand side of the screen. Make new folders for any new materials to label. Meet with your group in person, and talk about all your notes together. Write new notes in to make sure you have everything for that day. Or, have someone share notes with you or parts of them by them putting these doc's in the Sharing Folder on the lower left.

Homework

Get the homework page and take a picture of it, and put it in your Homework folder. Then, using your notes, and any other materials that you have saved, do the work together as a group, talking out the questions and answers with each other. Then, type out the answer in your own words, and save it. You can print that answer sheet out when you get home. File the answers in a folder on the left hand side of the screen.

Sharing Screen

When you need to share with a group member or members some kind of information you are talking about, simply click the upper right-hand button that says “Share Screen.” Then, the screen you are displaying will show to the people whose boxes you click that comes in the drop-down menu. You can take control of the cursor, and show them where you are talking about things, on the screen. Also, you can type things to explain things to someone, and that will show on their screen. Someone else can take control of the cursor, as well. Then, they can discuss what is on the screen, and show you what they are talking about, with the cursor.

Pictures Folder

Upload files like pictures to the picture folder, so you can look at things without using your book.

Remote Sharing

When you are up on the site, on the home page, you can sit remotely from other people in your group, like each in their dorm rooms, and share documents and talk about them just like you are in person. This helps when you can't meet in person. Simply dial their number on your smartphone, from their profile on the right-hand side of the screen, and enjoy talking out loud while you do homework, go over notes, or share any screen with them, to study group and get things done. If you get advanced, you can also meet the whole group at once with a conference call. This way, everyone can get things done even if they don't meet in person.

Sharing Folder

This folder is where you can put documents that you want to share with others in your group. It might be some flashcards that someone made, that everyone will use, or a Study Guide, or a picture, or some homework, or a part of someone's notes. Anyone can share what's in the Sharing Folder in the group. Putting stuff in the Tutor Group part of this folder will allow others outside your group to access those files. This might include flashcards, Study Guides, or Notes, or even Homework.

Daisy-Chaining Groups with the Tutor Groups Function

You can “daisy chain” groups to make the most of files that people create, to save everyone in that class time and busywork. Or, if there is a doc that someone didn't get that they need to get, they can ask another person to put it in a Sharing Folder, and then they can get it. Everyone works as one. Like to get materials from class that they didn't get. Discuss hard problems. And help everyone by teaching and tutoring everyone until they get it. Anyone using the site can join another group as a Tutor in their group, see below.

Tutor Groups

Anyone using the site can become a tutor to another group. This way, if someone has a question that they can't answer in their own group, what they do is call the smartphone of a Tutor Group member. You can become a Tutor Group member on the Control Groups screen. Then, they can talk about it, even go to a Sharing Screen and point to things about the doc, and then share the doc potentially if they want to, in the Sharing Folder.

Flashcards

Make flashcards to study for the test from terms in your class. Do it yourself, or share with someone who does them and shares with their group. Sharing can be done in a “sharing screen,” to see what has been done in the flashcards module, or the doc's themselves can be shared in a Sharing Folder doc going out to people in the group, or the Tutor group people who have access to the Tutor Group sharing folder in the Sharing Folder inside. Study Flashcards any time, online. It is just as fast as writing them on paper, and you never lose them, and you can share them. Pictures can be put on flashcards. Different size flashcards can be made, a small screen for just one term, and a big screen for a concept.

Study Guide

Get ready for the test by cutting and pasting from any of your stored files on the site to a new document, in minutes. Then, edit, and or share and compare it with your group members, to make sure everyone is on board, by using the Sharing Group to go through the document. Then, copy and paste the info that someone else doesn't have to a new document and put that in the Sharing Folder for them to have and to incorporate into their Study Guide. Keep all your Study Guides for the final exam, so you are prepared right away with all of it clearly organized in your folders, on the left.

Tests and Quizzes Folder

Take pictures of all your tests and quizzes, and upload them to the site. In a folder, on the left hand side of the screen. Then, use the content in any Study Guide, or, just to study to know what might be on a test, or final exam.
